Yohanna


The past few weeks the studio has been blessed with another truly talented artist. A young Icelandic girl named Yohanna. She’s amazing. More on that later.

I met her choreographer Cassidy Dill first. As my usual procedure to make sure the CD player in studio A was working I tested it with the songs Yohanna and Cassidy were going to work on. What I heard was this soulful, vibrant song. Sarah McLachlan meets Dido type of songwriting and sound style. Pro songwriting and musicianship.

I just had to hear some more and wow I wasn’t disappointed. I couldn’t help but comment to Cassidy about how much I enjoyed these songs. Then Yohanna walked in, now I’ve never met Yohanna before, so I was blown away when I saw she was a young girl just starting to drive. Then I heard her sing, that sealed my opinion about her, this girl has talent. Her voice perfectly complimented her songs and what control of her voice she had. It was awe inspiring, so much talent at such a young age. I’m sure there is a bright future for Yohanna. Oh and did I mention she’s a multi-platinum artist in her native Iceland. Check her out.
