What to Look For In An Indie/Local Record Company

Just like rehearsal and recording studios, local and independent record labels are opening up on a daily basis across our great nation and often these local/indie record labels are owned by these very same recording and rehearsal studios. Beware.

Before signing with a local or independent record label you need to do some homework and gather some information and profile the label. Some of this homework can be done by directly asking the company and there are other questions that need to be researched by the band before any paperwork is signed.

More bands have been destroyed by bad label deals, whether local or national record labels are involved. There are 6 key things that you need to know the answer to before signing on with an indie/local record label.
